To sign up for instant messenger, created a thread titled "Your Character's Screen Name - Your Character". The title should look like this.

Example: CarolIsCool - Carol Smith

Inside you may reiterate the following information and also have an icon (100x100 pixels or smaller), a few phrases or song lyrics that you like (if you want), and a buddy list.
